Children will get a hands on introduction to Horses and Ponies with Tiny Tots Riding Lessons or Summer Camp.  South Lyon.

WILDWIND

Wildwind Equestrian Center, located in South Lyon, opened its barn doors in September of 1994.  A pair of women who loved horses wanted to share their passion for horses with everyone, and for over 20 years that’s just what they’ve done. Wildwind trainers coach students of all ages, and one very special age group (4-6 years) gets their first experience riding at Wildwind in our Tiny Tot program.

TINY   TOTS

Young children ages 4-6 will get a hands-on introduction to horses and ponies with riding lessons, and hands-on horse projects. Lessons are taught by an experienced Wildwind instructor, and each student is escorted by a Wildwind student helper.

Wildwind has been voted  "Best Stable" for for the past 7 years by the Observer and Ecentric News Papers. Tiny Tots is safe, fun, and children progress at their own pace.

The Tiny Tots program consists of either a weekly class session that runs for 6 weeks, or a one-week summer camp. Tiny Tots is fun and exciting, and the kids can sign up for as many sessions as they want. When able to ride independently, they can move on to the Tiny Tots 2 program for further English riding instruction.

The goal is to teach the children how to control their ponies, learn to walk, trot, and do a posting trot. The ponies are carefully chosen for their good nature, calmness, and quiet disposition. All of the ponies are owned by Wildwind and are specifically trained for beginners.

Each week, along with their riding lesson students learn more about horses by participating in games, grooming and saddling, horse safety and craft activities. Miniature horses are used to teach our Tiny Tots how to groom, tack and safely lead. These small horses are just the right size for the children to do their own work.

Once the children can ride independently they can advance to Tiny Tots 2.
Please visit our website for more details on both Tiny Tot Lessons and Camp.  You can register for camp and classes in our online store or by calling the office.

Wildwind also offers camps and lessons for children 7-16 at a variety of skill levels. Lessons for all ages of students including our Seniors program are offered year round. Therapeutic Riding is offered from April-October, when available. Boarding and training also available.
